Brand Icons for FESPA
I was asked to create a series of animated icons for FESPA's Sustainability Spotlight programme. The aim of the programme is to inform and educate FESPA members about issues around sustainability in the printing industry.
They do this through podcast and video interviews, in-person events and a series of sustainability guides. The icons represent the six brand pillars that make up the Sustainability Spotlight initiative.
Initially, the only brand elements that existed were the logo and the green brand colour, so I essentially had to create a brand from scratch. Many of the topics around sustainability are information dense, and can often be a little dry. I therefore wanted the icons to have some personality, which could be brought to life through playful animations.
Originally the icons were intended for use in video presentations, but these are now used throughout the Sustainability Spotlight brand, including the Sustainability Guides.
The icons were created in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects.
